It's May 13. An excuse to cook up something special for that special person...It's also National BBQ Month.

A few years ago we started a tradition of having a Mother's Day dinner for friends whose mothers had passed. Naturally, the attendance grew each year. As we've aged it has come to a point where none of our friends have living parents. But we continue.
The table grace has a sad moment (I do it on purpose) but it's usually a pretty good party. It's grilled steaks this year.

Boy to I get that. Mom passed in 1995 and I still miss her as if it was yesterday.

So very true. When mom passed it became even more painfully clear how the importance of her existence was.
