The Dell laptop gave out, I did have the hard drive removed. Below is a picture of it. I have been told it can be put into a case and connected to my new laptop? I have also included a picture of with a link to an External Hard Drive Enclosure on Amazon I want to buy as I cannot find one here in Mayberry and don't feel like driving to Mt Pilot to get one!
So for you all in the know, will the one I have listed work? Do you read it like I do, that both the cable to connect it to my new laptop and the power device to make it run are included?

It looks like it will work to me and the cable is included.

If the laptop gave out because of a hard drive failure, that enclosure will probably not help you. I guess it is your call to try it for $10.

Nothing wrong with hard drive....I just have no idea if this is compatible? I just want to know is the enclosure compatible with the device. Just dont want to get it here and have to pay to ship it back.
I guess the box is like a tire, as long as it is the right size, it will go on any car. This, I have no idea!

8.1
Well, I guess I will roll the dice and order it!

Thank you all for the help...Yep, pictures, docs, and well things I cant even think of! So can I use this like a giant flash stick, cant think what they call them.

A little late on this one, but it will work fine. The important things are size of drive (2.5) and connector type (SATA)
You're good to go.

I have a couple laptop hard drives that I put into similar cases. They make a good cheap backup/portable drives. SyncToy 2.1 is an easy and free Microsoft application to use for that purpose.

Thanks.

One other item that may or may not be required is moving the little pin jumper block. If it is set to be the primary drive it may not work properly since the new laptops hard drive will be set as primary and boot from it. Set the jumper, if there is one, to make it the secondary drive. Look like you may have a jumper on the pins in the farthest right space?

You are referring to photo #2?

With the newer drives..’sata’ there is no ‘primary’ or secondary hierarchy. Just plug in and off you go..
Navigate to the ‘users’ folder, select the name you used to login under, select it.. It may ask you to take possession - answer yes, navigate to folder you need. Documents, pictures.. etc... copy to new computer..

Then it should be easy, I just thought the far right pins in pic #2 looked like jumpers I’ve seen in the past.
