Has anyone seen a "pressure smoker"?
There is a brand that is Honda motor powered, saw something on it this weekend.
I didn't spend too much time looking at it being busy but will look just out of curiosity.
The name is something like this K-////.
Don't want to post a name or link.

Was the name Kappus? I don't have any experience with it.
-
I honestly don't know if I can say it.
I will wait to hear, I googled it as a "K pressure smoker".
It will be the first one that comes up as a non picture.

Oh boy. Something about having a smoker with an engine :o
-
I just searched and found their website. I will say in a world where we want everything fast, this fits right in.
-
From what little I saw, it kind of looks like the meat is "steamed" ?
Especially the ribs.
Same here on the pass, just thought it was pretty dang different.
How I found that googling info on skin on bacon is besides me.
I showed my wife as we were going through the info and I got a BIG absolutely not.
She panics easily.
-
a little pricey for me at $3000.00 however I would be willing to test it out for them.
-
OK, now I've seen it.
No reason at all why a experienced cook cannot come out with some decent chow using that rig.
But I'm always somewhat skeptical about new cooking methods/equipment hitting the marketplace.
Hey, there are those that have gotten SkippyDippy over food put in a plastic bag and cooked in warm water. Aye?
I haven't even tried that yet!
The final test for food coming out of this pup will be Appearance, Taste, Texture!

Sealed and vacuum pressure rated? With an external source for a liquid in a bucket at ambient pressure? ::)
I will say it's a novel concept.

Some real creative pit making folks out there. Looks pretty cool, but I am still trying to learn how to "master" (hahaha) my pit, and loving the process. I think I will stay with my low and slow for the time being and see what happens in the future.

To me it is microwave BBQ! And I dont mean that in a bad way, I just believe the pressure is a way of decreasing the time to cook. And if you get enough smoke flavor in that time period why not? Laugh at me if you want, I have never tasted better fried chicken then KFC original, some that are as good, but none better!

Those are fighting words. Everyone knows that Popeye's spicy chicken is the best. :P

I like Popeye's it is good, I don't think it is as good as KFC original. I have never been a fan of KFC Extra Crispy and Popeye's seems to be a hybrid of KFC Original and Extra Crispy!

There is an American company in Homer, LA that makes a similar, in function, smoker. Plus fryers and grills. It is called the Cajun Express Smoker and comes in 3 versions. Same idea as the one at the start of this thread. Several testimonials, but I couldn’t find an independent review.
They definitely have some unique units. I'm kind of interested in their fryer and their grill. They appear like they would function really really well. I really like the burnerless aspect of their gas grill.
