I think a while back there was discussion about wire grill brushes and the potential hazards.
I saw an article where I think a fireman/paramedic made a new brush called Grill Rescue that eliminates the dangers.
No idea how well it would clean but thought I would pass it along.

According to their Kickstarter, there was so much demand, they had to push their delivery date on the brush back to this month. They do have a website for presale of the brush, $25, plus an extra $10 for a replacement head. It's basically a high density foam wrapped in a cotton cover for the head; you soak it in water, and the steam from it loosens the crud(I'm assuming the grill must be hot.). Someone else can be the guinea pig..... :2cents:

This isn't the first brush to use water/steam to clean the grate.. The video is interesting. Wording such as too lazy to clean your grill doesn't cut it. Why would you change your ways just because of a new brush?
I wire brush my grates after removing the food while the grates are still hot. If something is stuck, it gets scraped off at the same time. The key is; WIPE DOWN THE GRATES WITH A PAPER TOWEL after wire brushing.. If a brush has loose or missing bristles, discard it..Something else I do is to clean the wire brushes.. Spray heavily with Simple Green or a citrus base cleaner, soak (15 Min to 1 HR) then flush with a heavy stream of HOT water. May have to do twice. At this point, examine the bristles..
If using a wire brush without the proper precautions, consequences could be very well in order. :2cents:

I bought one of these Grill Art wireless brush and have used it a few times. Seems to have worked well. Has a little scraper to get in betwenn kind of.

I use a margin trowel, they are quite sturdy (used in the ceramic tile trade) and have for a long time. No notches though.
Works great for me and after that I use wadded up heavy duty foil to finish.

I have a similar scraper and it works okay although you have to lean on it more than the bristle type. No danger from loose bristles coming off with this one.

I have never had food poisoning nor had a wire bristle get in my food from a grill using a wire brush on my BBQ.
Disappointing they are now 27% higher then the last time I posted them.
