I would like to be able to tell you what they were, but Sam's Club had no ribs or pork shoulders for the 2nd time in the last 2-3 weeks that I have been there. What are you seeing in your area?
-
Plenty of Ribs, chops etc here in Tulsa. Prices at Costco were decent for most pork products.
-
Currently, one of our local stores is selling pork shoulder roast for .99/lb. ;D
-
Lots of ribs, loin, belly and butts in Fredericksburg Costco this morning! Appx. $3.50, $2, $3 and $2 per pound respectively!
-
I little store I go to mainly for meats has whole bonless loins for 1.99 this week. I had seen them up 50cents to a dollar he last while. This is the first time under 2 bucks I had seen. The food lion and 30 miles away runs butts for .99 almost once a month and seems to have ribs most of the times I have been there. 2.50 to 4 bucks depending on what you buy. The last time I was there I wanted chicken legs, none to be found bu they had breasts wings and thighs.
-
No issue with getting anything here, even Kroger had butts for .99 a lbs
-
Here on the left coast, Ralphs (owned by Kroger) is selling bone in butts for $2.49 per pound.
Sigh...
-
Food Lion has butts for .99 a pound here in Mayberry 2. (Bentley owns the Mayberry moniker). Not the nicest looking butts and they only had 2 out for sale even though it is an advertised special.
-
Picked up a 12# pork loin at Giant today for $1.19/#. Probably will cut into an inch thick boneless pork chops, and maybe save some for jerky.
-
Boneless loins here were 1.59 and butts .99 I picked up a 3 loins, one is cut up for jerky now one but went to country style ribs. 2 will get made in to pulled pork for friday and 1 butt and 1 loin will get ground for sausage or maybe some sticks other loin will be chops.

Amazing that you can buy a pork loin for almost half price of a pork shoulder per pound.
-
Pork Loin is a fantastic bargain right now when it comes to meat!

I agree. We use them a lot.

+1 on that
hope to see you around on here more frequently when you are back home.

Had not seen you and knew something was up, just did not want to hear it was this. Well, you are able to get back on, that is good for us and a good sign. You will be in my prayers!

$5.48/# for baby back ribs and $3.48/# for bone in pork shoulders at Sam's today
I didn't buy either
-
The ribs are high but not outrageous, I would never buy any at that price personally. But a cut that is usually .99¢ to $1.49/lb. at that price is straight up manipulation and inflation!

Pre-covid those same ribs were $2.99-$3.49

A grocery chain here in WI (Festival Food) has whole bone in pork butts for $1.00 a pound. Haven't seen that price in a long time.

Do you not ask yourself the question why some of this meat is so cheap. I know food prices are skyrocketing however I would prefer to buy less to get quality over quantity.

I don't because I feel I can make it taste good even if the quality is lower. Also, some of this stuff is potentially good quality. It possibly could be that the supply chain had product not being used for the restaurant industry that they felt they could liquidate through the mass retail channel.

Fredericksburg, VA 1/7/22, look at the price in reply #10 from July...gives me hope for beef one day. Loin up .20¢/lb and belly up about .90¢/lb. Still better then $4.90/lb. for the bacon at Costco.

When I made an order for pickup from Shamrock Food Service warehouse during pandemic, I mistakenly ordered two 10# boxes of bacon.
In hindsight, that was a good mistake. It was $2.40/lb

went to a locally owned supercenter before walmart had them. Groceries, work attire, boots, toys, some furniture, other clothing, hardware, paint automotive, hunting, fishing and probably a few departments I forgot.
Anyway looking through the meat case they had whole boneless loins for $1.49 a pound. Have not seen them that low in quite a while around me.

Fredericksburg, VA. Last time I even looked at BB (maybe 3 years ago) they were $3.49/lb., so that was a surprising price! If you can't see. $2.49, $2.29, $2.99 and $4.49
