Will miss the peaceful view off my back patio. But will enjoy the longer summers and will NOT miss the long cold winters here in MN.
Pod arrives tomorrow as we commence the journey to Southern Cal.

Looks like the backyard and view of the course I had when I lived in Chula Vista, CA.

Travel north on the 15 to Murrieta for mine.

Just north of the wine country of Temecula. Do they still have the secondary border check near there that they had 20 years ago?

Moving is always a pain, but looks like your landing spot is right on and beautiful. Safe travels, and good luck with the new digs ZCZ.

Used to drive thru it almost every day when I worked down by Miramar. Seems to me when I drove thru there a year or so ago they had closed it.

From one beautiful place to a warm beautiful place. Travel safely and hope all goes well.

If you and Bentley ever get out this way we could pull together a reunion of sorts along with the other pellet cookers in the So. Cal area. Wildomar comp is just up the road. Have two grills. Maybe we do a side trip to Pink’s (on my bucket list). Or other eateries you might recommend.
-
Is that patio all yours?
I would not go out of my way for Pinks, but I have been multiple times, so easy for me to say. I know you have already had In n Out, but now to be able to get it all the time, you are lucky. I dont think you have Jack in the Box, so try, I wanna say the #28. Ultimate Sausage sandwich combo. Try a Chili Dog from Weinerschinzel. Try Tommies Burger, no tomato. If you ever get to Pasadena, try Tops or The Hat. And if you ever get to South Pasadena go to the Highlife and have a Cheeseburger, Onion Rings and fried Zucchini with HVR dressing!

Good luck with the move. I know what you are going through. It seems there are a lot of different emotions that go along with saying goodbye to one chapter of your life as you prepare to say hello to the new one. It looks like you are in for an exciting challenge ahead. It has been three weeks since our move.We have emptied many boxes, but there are still far too many to go! Blessing to you and your family, safe travels!!
-
Best of luck with the move.

Even before going to our daughter’s house we had to go to the local In-n-Out Burger. It has been too long. Had a cheeseburger animal style, fries, strawberry shake.

Long distance driving does get old quickly. Don't know how truck drivers do it.
Glad you made it safely.
-
Glad to kmow you all are there and safe. VERY jealous right now, I can almost taste that In-an-Out!
-
I am trying to think, I guess it was Feb 2017. That was the last time I was in LA, had it by the Bob Hope Airport. Double Double, both onions and extra sauce! OK Buddy! One down 4 to go!

Pod arrived about 8:30 AM. Got all unloaded by 11:00. Thank goodness as temp this afternoon of 104.
Will take a while to sort everything out before we can start cooking on the grill.
Stay tuned.

Love to see you getting settled in!

I hate to say this Al but I think that view is even prettier than the pretty view you had in MN. I will admit I am prejudice to Southern California having lived there for 15 months.

Going to be hot for the next week but do not have the humidity and the bugs as you know.
-
If you were about 70 miles south where I used to live you wouldn't have the heat that you are experiencing. Folks used to tell me that San Diego County had 5 different climate zones. Fortunately, I was in the one that had low humidity and was about 75° almost every day.

Wishing you all the best in your new home

Enjoy your new home knowing you won't be freezing bodily parts off this winter...

Al, how much will you miss the Crow Wing chain? I still miss Big Pine and it's been years.

Good question Paul. I thought that was going to be the hardest part of the move separating from that very special piece of property. Miraculously, and it is a miracle, I do not miss it. The place there changed quite a bit with many of the big trees coming down due to storms and with other family members building next door and taking down most of the pines. Can’t blame them as they did not want see what happened to my cabin happen to theirs.
At any rate I gotta say I love my palm trees. Very graceful and relaxing.
