So back in May Big Dave 83 posted "Interesting Find". Some interest was generated. I was interested as I was looking for a way to rotisserie on my USA build Lil Tex 070.
So I purchased one and then upgraded to the SS option. I was backer #738. I received mine just after Thanksgiving and finally put it to the test two nights ago. I am in the PNW.
Started cook at about 4:30pm ambient temp 55°. Did chicken wings in the basket for about an hour and a half with my v1 Savannah Stoker set to 350°. Used a brine patted dry and then some dry seasonings. (wish I had rubbed with oil as the skin did not crisp up so into the air fryer for crispy skin) So here follows a pictorial of an unboxing, accessories and cook. Also I think Big Dave 83 asked about standing it up on end for "Schwarma?" . That would not work. But I did see on the FaceBook Group page for owners that someone had done Gyro meat horizontally.

Sorry, forgot how to do pictures...they are coming....look for my modified message...

Looks pretty slick.
Do you know how it works ?
Is there a high temp limitation ?
-
The way it works there is a big coil spring in the detachable housing on the left side of the framework. 40 full turns gives you about an hours cooking time. There was no high temp limitation noted for it.

Are they still available?

They had just started shipping to the backers at the end of November. You could probably still go to KickStarter and back it, but would imagine shipping might be out a ways yet. There is a FaceBook Group for owners of The Roto Q 360° where people are posting when they get theirs and first cooks and anything else they like or don't like about them.

I thought that might be the case.
Guess you need some good gloves to rewind it, if you are cooking longer than an hour.
Wonder if that coil spring will lose it's spring over time due to the heat.
Seems like it would be easy to replace though.

The wind up key for spring comes off to stay cool for a mid cook rewinding. You would still need a glove to hold the body of the Roto Q when rewinding though. I think at the temp most peopele will be cooking it shouldn't take the temper out of the spring but then I'm not that savvy about that stuff.

I sent them a message asking if they would sell just the basket and the unit to turn it. Would be great for the chili's, hope they respond.

Looks nice. I had originally ordered one and then cancelled. I had concerns about how long it was going to last and also how often I was probably going to use it. Hope it works out well for you.

How many of those accessories came with the unit and which ones were add-on?
-
All was included in my backing purchase of @$110. There were different levels with fewer items, double the items and and an option to add a collapsible BBQ pit.
