I ended up pulling the trigger on the RT Bullseye.
Very happy with it so far, for the first cook I did Rib Eyes and Asparagus. It sure does heat up quick, it was 500 after just over 15 minutes
Did 4 minutes a side and they turned out great.
Here are the steaks.

That looks really good. I’ve been considering the Bullseye for a while now. My gas grill is nearing end of life.

Great looking meal. I'm glad that the Bullseye is meeting your expectations.
I didn't care for my first generation Bullseye (other people liked theirs—maybe that says more about me than the product) but it appears that recteq© made significant changes and the Bullseye will match their other offerings' quality.

Yes I read the negative reviews of the first gen bullseye. I think they addresses all those concerns in the second gen.

What were some of the issues with the 1st Gen model? How were they resolved?
Part of it may be user intent and expectations along with the manufacturer’s need to “work out the kinks”.
I know from experience that sometimes these grills just have to be simply redesigned or fixed. 3rd time was a charm for a properly functioning controller on my Stampede.
Other times it’s relative to what you wanted the grill to do. IE: 90 percent of the cooking I do on my Stampede is done between 200-300 degrees. I have no need to compare it’s high temp cooking performance to a Bullseye, or Memphis, etc.
Likewise, my interest in the Bullseye is almost entirely for higher temp “classic” grilling.

NOTE: These comments refer to the first-generation REC TEC© Bullseye. Please do not interpret them as applying to the second generation introduced this year.
About three years ago, recteq© (then they were REC TEC©) introduced the Bullseye’s first-generation. They advertised that it provides the "great wood-fired flavor, without the extensive work required on charcoal grills." I bought one because I remembered the great taste of steaks grilled over red-hot coals derived from found wood while camping.
We couldn't detect the alleged "great wood-fired flavor.” In fairness—perhaps no grill can match my memory of those flavors. The camping ambiance and the tendency to embellish memories may have created an unrealistic goal.
I also worried about a pellet hopper fire. The pellets at the auger’s end scorched black and I suspected that some were even lit when I shut the unit down.
I quickly sold it.
I’m assuming that the issues I experienced have been resolved, but IDK the “How?” that you ask.

This is the review of the 1st generation I was referencing:
I deleted the link to the other BBQ-related web site because I think it violates the Registration Agreement. Bentley and Kristin are traveling so I'm trying to fulfill my role as a Global Moderator for them.
The Registration agreement reads, "[N]o links to Craigs List, other forums or other bbq/bbq related websites or pages (Without Owner Permission)"

The first gen had the old controller similar to a traeger that was upgraded to a pro controller in 2nd gen and not has a meat probe, which first did not.
The first gen was not all stainless for the lid and cooking chamber, 2nd gen is all stainless.
They said that they got some coming back into the hopper, I have not had that happen on the 2nd gen, as I believe they addressed this issue with a smoke vent on the hood.
