Spent my morning and into the noon hour cooking for Manna Ministry (Culpeper Presbyterian Church's food ministry). They serve lunch on M, W and F to any who show up, no questions asked. We fixed turkey a la King with rice and bread. There was also a serving of cooked apple slices, a bottle of water and cookies. Every person is also offered fresh fruit and vegetables, packaged meats and cheese (courtesy of the local Weiss supermarket) and various rolls, bagel and bread (courtesy of the local Panera). 3 months ago when I last helped they had 87 folks, one of their bigger servings. Wed they served 120. Today we served 100. Clearly, the need is growing. I am always impressed with how the community in Culpeper comes together to take care of folks.

I'm sure that there's a place in heaven for people like you and the people of Culpeper.

Thanks for the appreciation, but I really have to reflect it back on Manna Ministry. This has been going on for years, 3 times a week, month after month. The dedication of the hundreds who have served and continue to serve and of the businesses which support it is just so impressive to me. I was simply lucky enough to be invited to help and am retired and in decent enough shape still that I can!
