Title: Pork, Pork and more Pork
Post by: hughver on June 18, 2024, 07:38:32 PM
Just finished processing 30+ lbs. of boneless pork butts. This will be my last smoking and processing pork butts. The yield was 18+ lbs. of pulled pork. When I run out this time I'll either buy it or go to a restaurant. The physical strain on this severely limited 87-year-old frame is just too much. Luckly my wife did a lot of the heavy lifting. She even helped with the pulling and vacuum packing. Future use of the grill(s) will probably be limited to steaks and small roast.

That is a lot!  Have you ever used the paddle attachment on the Kitchen Aid to shred?

I can understand where you are coming from kind of, the GF is a huge help to me with a lot of things. For me, I don't walk so well and carrying some things doesn't end well at times.  Bad part is when you go out for it or buy it it is rarely as good as what you make yourself.

But I give you a lot of credit, I can't seem me doing that at 87 doubtful I will see 87. We are both fortunate to have great ladies holding us up.

WE entertain a lot and have lots of visitors when it's cold up Noth. Not so much this time of year with 100°+ temperatures. Pulled pork sandwiches using toasted Broche hamburger buns, topped with pickle and cold slaw is a popular item served at our house.
