Title: Pork Seasoning
Post by: hughver on June 27, 2024, 12:33:20 PM
I prepared a couple of pork tenderloins yesterday and tried a new to me, seasoning. It was Weber's Honey Garlic. IMHO, it was very good and may well be my go-to seasoning for pork from now on.

If you have some crystalized honey you can make your own. I bought an 8 oz. bag at the same time I bought the Weber rub.

Crystalized honey is a little out of my wheelhouse, but you have inspired me to coat the pork loin with honey before applying rub!

That sounds like a good idea, let us know how it turns out.

It just dawned on me I did not season before putting in the smoke on the Weber, so will be interesting to see how the loin accept both the honey and the rub for the roasting part of the cook!

My wife has a marinade, oil, herbs & onion that works well.  I prefer the following as it does away with the time factor.

I find a coat of maple syrup works wonders (no marinade): or if not available, brown sugar.

 The cook:  Smoke @ 250º 1 HR.  Then cook @ 325º, 30 to 45 Min to a 140º done temp.
