It seems I have lost interest in college sports. Even though I grew up following Michigan State, have relatives that attended there, and am now living about 20 miles from the campus, I have not watched one game this year. With players moving in and out of the portal and playing for the highest bidder, it has diminished my enthusiasm. That being said, I do plan on filling out a bracket this year with nothing to go on but the seeding and gut feelings. I can't do much worse than when I was paying attention to the games!

I went to see a University of Houston game back in early February and really enjoyed the experience. It helps that they are a fun team to watch and are ranked pretty high. If I decided to pick a bracket, I would probably pick them as National Champs.

I agree and at times todays sports are to political.

I don't follow college basketball at all. But it is fun to pick teams on the basis of someone I knew went there or their grandkid is going there or they look good, etc. Just silly stuff and then see how I do!

I agree with that. I quit watching all sports some time ago. The very reason I enjoyed sports was the escape it brought. To bring in the garbage I was trying to escape from ruined them for me. To each there own. It freed up a lot of time to do other things! A bracket filled out like Krisin does can still be entertaining though.

Free agency ruined my professional sport spectatorship. I’m in favor of free agency from the players’ perspectives, but the players I had been following and rooting for suddenly moved to arch enemy teams. Players from other teams were suddenly playing for the team I supported. That left me rooting for a uniform.
College sports has the same issue. It’s called the transfer portal. So I ignore most sports.

Not a sports guy but I will have a look.
I am there but have no idea what to do. Maybe I am to late.
Okay I see it doesn't start until the 16th.

Time to pick!
-
Much to the chagrin of many pundits the UNC Tar Heels made the tournament!
-
I think I have it done, some how they were all filled in and I just put scores in for the winners.
Good luck everyone.

I decided to join and made my picks too.

My picks are in. First time I have played. I don't follow college sports much since NIL but this seems like a fun way enjoy sports again.

I am not a huge fan of some of the NIL regulations, but I think it has made college basketball better than it ever was. The conference tournaments seemed to be better games across all the larger conferences than I remember in recent times. A few 2OT games, several OT games, and several games down to the buzzer and certainly competitive down to the last few minutes of the game across the majority of the games. I watched a lot this year. Lower seeds were the most competitive I have seen them. I have also heard some TV pundits say the same thing. Those folks have high expectations for the competitiveness of this years NCAA tournament.
If the NCAA tournament is not enough for you, there are a few other men's basketball post season tournaments you can watch - CIT, BCIC, CBI, NIT, CBC. Also, the women's tournament is going to be very entertaining too, but probably once they get to the sweet 16 round or maybe the Elite 8. Most of the top ranked teams are very good and when they play against each other the games will be very competitive.
I plan to be glued to the televisions starting today.
Oh, and don't forget the NCAA wrestling tournament this weekend with a Penn St wrestler going for the first 5 time national champion. And, this weekend has college hockey conference tournament finals. Their post season starts next weekend. Frozen four will be 4/10 and 4/12.

I am probably out of it by now, I was never a big sports guy. Used to watch some Winston Cup stuff and always in to the drag racing, but don't really watch or keep up on it any more.
-
I am not sure what time the brackets close, but if they are still open get your brackets in. Official 64 team tournament starts around noon today.
-
I think that WCC St. Mary's from Calif. is a dark horse to watch.
-
Oh my -- my bracket is a sea of red!! The only positive? My alma mater, UCSD, only lost by 3. We did not even have inter-collegiate sports when I attended.
-
Let's go Cougars!
