Thoughts today...  Still not my favorite grill... but Firecraft is selling the Q450 for $800 right now... that's $200 off the price of last week.  Still not my favorite grill, but you'd be hard pressed to find another grill with as much stainless steel for any less than that $800.

Meanwhile , does anyone really know for sure if they are making those out of 304 SS, or 430 SS now?  originally they were 430SS, made in USA. Rumor had it that production was going to move to China and steel changed to 304SS, but I've never seen anything from Firecraft stating that.

I'm one of the early-ish PQ-450 owners.  SN# 114 I believe.  I bought the additional searing kit as well.  This is my first pellet grill so I can't compare directly to other manufacturers but I can say that coming from a gas/charcoal/offset background I absolutly love this grill.  I know there are higher priced models, but aside from the side/front shelfs (which are coming) I can't think of many options that I would want that would have me upgrade.  It's just great for what I do (weekday grilling, occasional weekend long cooks).

I will say that I initially missed the "heavy smoke" I could get with my offset smoker but once I added in a supplemental smoke source (A-MAZE-N for me) I can't really tell the difference.

I was just going to post about the sale they have.

That's the price I purchased for, and when you compare to other grills at the $800 mark, I really don't know what more you can get for that value.

The sale on the Fire Craft is making it hard to pass up. I do like the CS450 as well, my friend has one and really likes it
