Break In smoke for FEC100
« on: February 08, 2018, 10:33:09 PM »

Does anyone know recommended break in smoke instructions for FEC100. There is no mention in the manual. My PG1000 was 400* for 1 hour.

Thanks

I believe I ran my FEC120 for 1 hour at 250 but don't hold me to that. I would suggest calling Cookshack.

400 for an hour is what I did - do that for all of the ones I have had.
You really just need to burn off any assembly grease, etc.
I also season with a cheap but large cut of fatty pork and just let it cook at 225 for 4-6 hours

I ran my FEC 120 when I got it for 72 hrs. Stopping at 24 hrs to vacuum out the firebox and then restarting.
It seasoned beautifully.
