Iced wings
« on: August 25, 2019, 01:37:26 PM »

BBL, going to try your recipe for wings. 1st time we have done them frozen. This is 2 a fold post because after yesterday’s “oopsie” I got to thinking about the portable grill. Was really wondering if I had to clean another auger. Tell you what it took off like a rocket. See how they look later. Notice the paper towels, cannot find the grease catch, oh well.

My brother usually buys the jumbo split party wings from Restaurant Depot and some of them look like drumsticks

Very good, our son and his girlfriend DEVOURED them, I had 2. We bathed them in Soy Vey Teriyaki. Definitely a repeat. Thanks for the heads up on them.

I had to fight off our 2, we have to keep the buckets a secret. They know right where to look.

So what was the recipe from BBL that you used? I gave up on cooking the iced wings on the smoker cause they just never got tender. Ended up finishing the bag I had last night in the deep fryer. Those were good, but not as good as fresh.

Bregent, here is what I was referring to.
I am not sharp on how to access the quote but if you search wings, you will find BBL's post about them.
Sorry about the late response,

I almost always cook them frozen at somewhere between 275°-325° until crispy.  Pull, dunk in sauce, and throw back on grill for 10-15 minutes

Thanks yorkdude. That's how I tried cooking them and they just were no good. Maybe I had a bad bag. The flats were ok, but the drummettes were practically inedible.
