Bent is good about brining every type of thing that can take a brine.  Me?  I only brine when I think about it and usually for special occasions.  It just doesn't seem to occur to me to do it.

usually only when i made a turkey for thanksgiving but that has been about 3-4 years ago now

I only tried it with chicken once & I never saw a difference, I think I somehow screwed it up.

What volumes?  How much water to sugar and salt and how long in brine?

Never cared for it. ... Found the texture of the meat to be mushy, not moist. Don't see the need for it myself. But that's what makes America great! ..... Like Burger King, everyone can have it their way.

I used a recipe I found online, I didn't write it down so I am unsure of the measurements. I will have to experiment again.

For me it depends on what I am cooking and the chosen method of cooking that meat. For example I sometime cook Turkey and brine it but other times I just inject.

I wet/dry brine every chance I get; it's factored into the process, so much so that I don't even think about it being unusual. I start my prep with brining in mind several days/hours before I am ready to smoke.
