How Big of a whole Pig Would Fit on FEC-100?
« on: October 30, 2018, 07:21:09 PM »

Wondering if anyone has ever cooked a small pig on their FEC-100? If so, what weight should I shoot for?

I don't imagine I can bring a tape measure to the store. :)

Are you willing to rig something up to hang it to cook?

If you mean on a shelf, probably nothing bigger then a suckling, maybe 25-30 lbs.  Hung, whole other story, probably a small hog, maybe 125 lb. dressed!

Yeah thinking one shelf … I've always been leery of hanging meat that gets cooked to such high internal temps. I imagine it falling...
