Until I moved to a colder climate I always said I would take cold over warm...as I can "always get warm" but can't always get cool...with 60 just months away, that ideology has changed!

With temps at around -14 this morning, had to try the throwing boiling water in the air thing and watch it come down ice. It worked! Not a great picture, but the best I could do! Stay warm and stay safe!

Temps this AM were -22 with wind chills of whatever, highest it got today way -12. I work part time running a lunch truck. Boss closed for today, but expects us to be there tomorrow when tempa are expected to be colder. Told her I'm staying home for my own personal saftey. @ Age 65 I don't need to be out there.

Plenty of BBQ in the freezer, no need to be out there.

Agreed.

I don't recall ever getting below 25 deg in the PNW. I prefer cold to hot, but refuse to drive in snow or on ice. Werk can bite me in this matter. I have 4 weeks of vaca, 3 of sick, and 6 days of personal. At 62 years of age, I don't need the anxiety or any other part of dealing with idiots on the road.  >:(

It's in the 70`a in Phoenix, I'm planting tomatoes this weekend if I can find what I want.  Stay warm and be careful up there.

I just find it amazing how we allow the press to get in to our heads and try to tell us how we should live our lives.  Yes it is cold out their however think about our forefathers.  It was cold for them and they didn't have anywhere near clothes  to what we have to keep us warm.  I also think about our Soldiers who are deployed to Afghanistan or station in such places as the North Pole or Fairbanks AK.  Anyway my point is if you want to grill in this weather do so and be thankful we have the option.  Oh and just remember any day above grind is a great day.  Just my not so humble opinion

I guess I did not care what the press thought or said this morning at 6:15 am when I had to take Sigmund out in 3 degrees.  I was cold. But he had to go, so I lived my life by going out in the cold, even though I did not want to. But I was not particularly thankful for that option. I was cold.  And our forefathers had wool and cabins and fireplaces.  Sometimes things were tough and sometimes they were ok for them.  But the history of mankind is basically suffering for thousands of years including massive suffering all over the world this very minute.  That still doesn't mean that I wasn't cold this morning.  And I don't know about any day above ground being a great day.  I believe my Savior lives and my best days will take place once they put me in the ground.

The old "psychological pricing" got me. I braved the cold conditions and got four racks of St. Louis style ribs for $1.99/lb, three 4.5 lb packs of wings for $1.99 lb (considering it is Super Bowl weekend also) at ALDI and then turn around and get a couple 10 lb pork shoulders for $.99/lb at Fareway.
