I could see a gas grill being slightly easier to use then pellets for at least one reason

 Gas grills could require a bit less cleaning, after all there are no ashes to clean at all...  unless you count the burnt stuff that drips down onto flame tamers.    So, well there are at least a couple pellet grills that offer easy dump firepots ( Blaz'n  and Camp Chef are the two that come to mind ).

...not normal for the lid to auto-open when the flame re-lit after a little to much grease smoke had smothered one burner out.
