I cook almost everything outside regardless of time of year, as long as it is not raining.

I cook almost everything outside regardless of time of year, even if it's raining.

Fixed it for you  :P

I have pushed the rain a bit. I have an umbrella that I put up over my smoker. I am concerned about getting the pellets wet and having the machine jam.

Rain is not usually a big problem where I live. This was a big rain year, and a couple of years ago, but otherwise, it has been years of drought.

The upside of the rain was the amazing super bloom.

I give up.

Why?
Because I make broad categories that folks should be able to fit into and then it seems that everyone finds some way to be an exception.  I can't define every category or I would have 9,000 -- do you get more take out that you bring home, do get more take out that you eat in your car, do you get take out that you picnic with, do you order from a restaurant but then take to a friends house to share, etc etc.  You could go on forever with permutations. I just figure folks would go with broad categories.  I was obviously mistaken.

Kristin, your poll selections are fine. Poll responses need to be broad, otherwise you will have a whole bunch of selections with 0 to 1 response.

This is why so many polls asks you to select the best response from the list. Poll results are a statistic rather than an inventory of responses.

There is a science to good creating polls. I have worked with some folks that do it for a living.

Keep up the good work. Polls are great. We should make more use of them.

Got to go. I am grilling cod and mini lobster tails this evening.

Bummer, I opened the packages of cod and the fish was bad. I bought it yesterday. I had to return it to the market. No fish for me tonight.

I cooked the mini lobsters though and used one for an omelet I cooked for my wife for breakfast tomorrow morning.

Cook outside often but also eat out more often as well.  I have the advantage of being able to roll my Stampede either under the porch or out from under it if there is shade. Have two ceiling fans that keep the smoke from building up under the porch.

My other job is to play golf 3x weekly; in the summer heat, we tee off at 7:30 AM and are done before noon.  Drink plenty of fluids, afternoon nap in a cool house. What else is there?

Heating up this week in the Bay Area - though nothing like other parts of the US right now - so moved the pizza making to the Memphis last night

I hope this isn't too bad of a hijack, no politics intended.

I'm a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest.  For most of my life people ridiculed us as Pacific NorthWET.  We embraced it, even with the three months of grey.   Now we see the month long heatwave in Europe (and elsewhere).  Droughts and fires in Cali.   Pacific Northwest is looking pretty good, and yes I cook same year round regardless of conditions, but that's only because we're a temperate rainforest.   Pretty mild year round.  I never figured that would be so attractive on a global scale.   I suppose I'm pretty lucky to live in this beautiful area.
