Memphis help
« on: April 05, 2019, 01:17:09 PM »

Memphis Pro 2010 powder coated. One of the ledges for the heat deflector is rusting away. There's still enough there to support the heat deflector, but it's a matter of time before more rusts away. Any ideas on a fix?
Bentley, yours is the same as mine, I think - any issues with yours?

Here's the right side, still good.

And here's the left side, part of it rusted and flaked off.

Yes.

Mine completely wore away too after 8+ years of fires and abuse.  Memphis Tech told me about inserts, so I ordered them.  It was 4 panels, obviously each side & F/B.  The 2 side bars that you show and the back resting bar, sorry, I don't know the names of this stuff.  I do not know if they still deal in this stuff, but I figure it added 10 more years to the Pro.

Might contact him, or the company in general and see if they are still make them!  It really did bring the pit back from the dead!  I have tried to lay off the fires as a means of cooking & getting rid of excess grease!  Kind of figured that had a lot to do with the metal fatiguing and denigrating!

Not trying to be flippant, you have about 3 years left before that goes if yours is like mine!

This photo explains why Bent has close ties with the local fire department.
