Good point about not maintaining heat while the lid is open.  Maybe remove the grates and put it directly on the flavorizer bars (as Weber calls them) that protect the burners.

Still have a Sizzle Q in the garage I bought years ago that worked well. Just don't use it anymore since my Blackstone purchase.

I used one like that on a Weber I had about a year or so ago, and just couldn't get the heat to stay there with the lid open.

At every opportunity I ask griddle cooks what temperature they set their flat-tops at.  The answer is always 350°F.  I can easily maintain that on my current Broilmaster gasser with the lid open.  The lid will close for high temperatures if I remove the big handles or mount them so they tilt into the grill.

How many of you bought one of these griddles?  They are currently sold out.  Mine is supposed to be delivered today.

If anyone has a 17" Blackstone and the Griddle hack I would like to know how they compare?

You are the only one so far from this site to at least use the link.  They have already paid the commission.

BBL, I am still on the fence with purchasing the Griddle Hack.  I do not do much griddle type cooking.  With that said, Bent's cheese steaks looked pretty darn good, and put plus points in my buy column.
