Drip_Ez for your drip trays.
« on: June 02, 2019, 11:25:41 AM »

New product, made in various sizes for your drip pan.  No more shaping and cutting aluminum foils for your drip pans.  It is made with heavy aluminum foil, has high edges on both sides and fits most standard drip pans. (comes in 3 sizes). I bought the 15.5" by 20" for my GS and it just fits with no overlap at the the edges, so it does not interfere with air flow.  Comes is groups of 3 and you can put all 3 in at once, and then just remove the top piece when it is dirty.  Ordered a box of 12 for $38, and should last a long time.  Not cheap but very convenient.  Has a folded flap at the bottom to extend down into the drip pan.  Watch out! as the folded edge is razor sharp and gave me a nice "foil" cut.  (I told the manufacturer to put a warning on the lable).  First 3 installed. What do you think?

Traeger has something similar and something else for the drip buckets too.  While I do throw money away on things too frequently, I can't see me spending money on something for the drip tray or the grease bucket.  I usually scrape the drip tray and use a power washer on it 1-2 times a year.

Well I have Q'ed both with and without foil and prefer to have the foil so as not to have to scrape and dispose of the yuk.  But can't argue with either approach.  Will see how I like them and report back if problems.

I tried foiling the drip tray—it was a frightful mess and grease seemed to get under the foil anyway.  I quit foiling and pretty well perfected a way to scrape the grease tray into a lined waste basket without dripping onto a cedar deck.

I'm going to try this to see if it's an improvement over that.  Thanks for the tip.

This is exactly the type of product I've been looking for! I also have a Grand Slam and appreciate your information on the correct size for the GS.

I bought a batch of these, size small for my Grand Slam.

I've used two of them and, so far, I'm really impressed.  The fit is perfect. They last for many cooking sessions and the baked on black stuff usually pops right off if I'm not yet ready to use a new one.  They take the hassle out of foiling or scrapping the grease tray.

They may seem expensive, but it's worth it to me. Cooking on my GS is one of my few hobbies nowadays, and the cost seems minimal compared to typical hobbies such as golf, fishing, etc.

Have used them on two cooks on the Stampede and very pleased.  Had the short ones left over from my Blaz'n, so had to put an extra piece at bottom to cover the 30 inches.  Wiped off the puddled grease easily with a towel.  The black dried up spots just popped off also.  Not yet sure the cost is worth for me.
