Yeah, and so many uses for the TEC with the glass now too. They show that you can use it like an induction cooktop and put a pot on it. Not sure I'd do that, but I don't plan on putting in a side burner and ya never know. It also says "self cleaning" and claims that anything that drips just burns right off. Hard to believe, but that would be cool (or hot, actually).

I read that the drippings and such burn down to a black ash that you can scrape up with a spatula (plastic?). The instructions also said that it is not necessary to clean the glass totally to spotless. But of course most of us would. They also have a custom grill grate scraper that fits over the grids and is spaced exactly for 5 or 6 grids at a time. But it is $70!  I think the only time you have to remove the glass is if you let grease drip down on a low slow cook.  They have an expensive drip tray and grate assembly for that function (only $300).

The guy that's building my kitchen came by today. I told him those two grills I'm leaning towards. He said I should look at the Summerset American Muscle Grill. Looks sweet--style is taken from a Shebly GT350 or something. That one grill costs more than boht the Memphis and the Tec together!!!!

Seems nice but.... makes no sense to me.

If you are scouting around for grills in addition to your pellet pit, there are several worth considering.  My favorites–
  • Kalamazoo has an extensive line
  • Cajun Preaux (there's a video review on YouTube)

Also found that the difference between the regular and Sterling models is just that the hood is rounded on the sterling, and is creased on the regular.  Strictly aesthetic change for $300 or more difference. There is no functional difference. ?
