Labor Day / Birthday Dinner
« on: September 10, 2020, 10:17:54 PM »

I have to say it was busy over Labor Day weekend prepping and cooking for the my birthday.  The meal consisted of a shrimp appetizer, Maryland crab cakes made with Maryland jumbo lump blue crab, french fires and grilled asparagus (no pictures available)  the birthday cake was a Black Forest cake made from scratch, a lot of work but well worth it.

It was obviously a happy birthday.

Your apron says, "Culinary Arts Center."  Which Center?

I was thinking the same thing, looking at and reading about his cooks leads me to believe it is a good one.

Thank you for the compliment, however, like most of us on this site I am self taught.  I took up cooking and baking as my hobby when I retired.  I do read a lot of cookbooks and search the web for inspiration on how and what to cook.
