Has anyone built their own smoker using something like this? https://smokedaddyinc.com/product/the-pellet-pro-18-hopper-assembly

I haven't.  I like the 35# hopper, but for the price they want, you can buy a ready-to-go grill.

When the old site was active, and Pellet Smokers were rare and expensive, this was a more feasible option and discussed greatly.

Quite a few 'creative applications' were displayed and shown.  It is good to see this company still in business this many years later.

Now there are a multitude of options for new pellet units, along with better cost and affordability, it has kind of wiped out the incentive of most of the DIY market.

While this is still a great option for a 'specialty custom' pit/cooker - the allure and incentive to convert an existing cooker has diminished greatly for most people.

Just my  :2cents:
