One of my all time favorite photos

One of my favorite photos from our recent trip to FL and Ga. We were camping at Kings Bay and this photo was taken from the shoreline. the gator was about ten feet from me. the other picture is the lake

I agree, unless I was in a tree.  They can't climb trees, can they ?  ;D

10’ is just a tad close for me.

I would be okay with 10 feet as long as I had the 44 with me.

I have some photos like that of salties in Australia and another of an alligator from our kayak while paddling in the bayou in Louisiana. My wife thinks we were bumped from below. I am not sure.

The closest I've ever been to one (at least that I could see), was when we were on an Air Boat excursion in the everglades.
Probably a 100 yds away, but could have been some unseen gators near the boat, but  underwater.  ???

I was walking around a swampy area in South Carolina about 20 years ago when an alligator that I hadn't seen made a run for it.  It was one of those oh xxxx moments, but then I realized that it was running away from me.  Thankfully, I tend to run large and was large enough to frighten the gator.
