I'm not sure why but I just bought an Airprobe2 by Tappecue. Has anyone here tried one yet, if so, does it work as advertised?

Have never even heard of it.  What are its functions?

I have not looked to see what they are but by the nae are they a Meater Type thermometer? I have Meaters I got years atfer crowdfunding them. I was so irritated with their messing round and all the delays when they came I never used them. I should try to find them I guess.

This device looks like a Meater. The probe has dual temperature sensors, the lower portion is for the food and the upper inch is for chamber temperature. the BS sheet says that it has a Range of 100' and will work inside a pressure cooker. I'll try it out on my next cook.

Judging by the reviews at the big A it has a bit of a problem with the range.
Several reviewers reported that they had to keep their phone close to stay connected.
I assume they are talking about a Bluetooth connection, if you can connect it to your Wi-Fi the range should be unlimited via the cloud. (Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about)?
Pretty cool idea, meat temp and cooker temp in one unit without wires.
I could use it on my tabletop rotisserie since it is wireless.
I also saw that the Airprobe3 is coming out soon. I wonder what they added?

I was looking at the Thermo Pro Tempspike, another copy of the Meater, because it was supposed to be good to 500ft away according to the stats. I saw it was on sale on Amazon for $79.99 instead of $99 and then with a coupon code it dropped to $55 and some change so I ordered it, but then I started reading the reviews on Amazon about it where it was having distances issues as well as people said it was horribly inaccurate for the ambient temp part and what not, and a temp that doesn't give a proper temp isn't very useful so I cancelled my order. I would really like a fireboard 2, but I am cheap.

Has anyone done a comparison of the Meater vs the copies? I’m really interested but it’s hard to make a choice with all the marketing hype. I was all ready to get an Airprobe 2 since I know Tappecue makes a good product the I read the reviews.

The Airprobe 3 is thinner with a bit more longevity.
