Last night I went to a minor league baseball game. It was rained out, but I got to meet the GOAT of competitive eating, Joey Chestnut.

I asked him what his secret was. He said, "I love to eat and hate to lose. If I am going to put myself through something that is going to cause so much discomfort, I am not going to come in second. That's the worst feeling."

I saw an ESPN documentary on him and some other competitive eaters.  It was amazing the exercises that they go through and the training regiment in preparation for these events.

There was a TV special on Competitive eating I watched.  They did a demonstration about how much food goes into the stomach at a July 4th Nathan's contest. It was early 2000's and Takeru Kobayashi had just won the contest with 50 something.  They took the buns and hot dogs and put them into one of the balloon's they put those Teddy Bears in.  It was amazing to see the size of it!
