Grandson at Arlington Cemetery
« on: June 03, 2024, 12:25:40 PM »

We were at Arlington Cemetery Last week and as a retired Soldier I could not have been more proud of our Grandson, Alex.   He was very intrigued by Arlington National Cemetery.   He couldn’t believe everyone there was a Service member.  He was very thoughtfully going through and reading the names, dates and branch of service. The respect he showed Four fallen Comrades in Arms. He was more then deeply intrigued he was deeply respectful.

Arlington was somewhat of a moving experience for me.  And I was not in the service but, I was deeply affected by everything I saw there.

That is great to see. My Trail Life troop places flags for Memorial Day at a local cemetery and we try to instill being reverent in what they are doing and as they place each flag to read the name and dates and salute. It is neat that our local cemetery has veterans from every war they make the veteran flag holders for, including the revolutionary war. We also had to check over areas some other groups were supposed to place flags in because they put them in flag holders of non-veterans and missed some because they were in too much of a hurry.
