Gizzard City
« on: February 05, 2025, 01:38:39 PM »

I live about 8 miles from Joe's Gizzard City. It was featured on Guy Fieri's show a few years back. I finally got the chance to check it out the other day. It was good and I enjoyed it, but it was a lot more greasy than what I am used to these days. I had the gizzard combo (garlic, Cajon, and traditional) with onion rings.

Here's the link to the show:

I don't get out and about in the country very much but, I have been to several places (Seattle, Portland) featured on Guy's show and I have to say I was fairly disappointed in them.

If you fry anything in enough batter it should be good! The flavorings were a bit overpowering and covered up much of the taste. I don't really know how to best describe the actual taste. The texture was firm, mealy might be a good way to think of it. I did not had a real strong flavor.

We are right there with you on that one!  Places in Maine & Vegas come to mind the most!
