Fish finder

Could not find a section to ask non pellet grill questions. Please move if needed.

I want to buy a fish finder for my boat. Will use in lake and some rivers. I am leaning too the Garmin® Striker™ Plus 7SV Sonar/GPS Combo.

GARMIN-STRIKER-PLUS-SV

Anyone have this one or one like it?

I have an earlier version on my dinghy and it works great.

A good sounder that just got better with the “plus” feature.

I have the previous model on my kayak (no plus) and it’s a great sounder.

Have a Echomap 9sv on my boat and it’s a superb sounder.

So the new “plus” bits bring all the Echomap features to the striker series.

Buy it, you will be happy.

Thank you both for the responses. Wasn't sure if I would get any.

Wasn't sure if I will use the lake mapping fetcher much  because I will be fishing a lot of reservoir's that the water changes depth each day but for $50 more why not get it.

Any suggestions on how to learn how to use one would be appreciated.

Real easy to use the mapping.

You need to be in gps/ map mode only to start it and do the “QuickDraw” once running and mapping bottom you can go to any screen or do combinations and mapping or drawing will continue in the background.

Handy feature even if your area that you fish doesn’t change depth. You will find lumps or holes that you will want to explore or you can follow a contour line easily then as well if fish are holding at a certain depth.
