I have never had an issues either, does not mean it could not happen.  That 160°was the highest I have ever gone and that was 2 hours.  It is usually 135° for about 8 hours.

I always protect my granite from hot pans of any type.
550 degree pizza pan vs 68 degree granite - I won't risk it.  Have wooden trivets I put down.
Too big an investment to risk doing it, whether it is safe or not.

Mine is sitting on top of a large synthetic cutting board with a dish towel on top to avoid sliding.

That works pretty well. I have a two of these large cutting boards and a similar, medium size one.

I have cutting boards to spare.
