Smoking some salmon tomorrow. High will be +4 and low will be -7. A walk in the park for the Memphis Pro. Coldest I have cooked here in MN is -14.

It'll be 71° tomorrow, so I guess that will be the coldest temp. that I will have used the GMG in.     
I usually start the cold smoking in the MES at first light this time of year.  I think the lows is going to be 39° to 45° this week.  Ten pounds of cheddar, 20# of Canadian/back bacon are on the list for next weekend.

The coldest is probably high 10s or low 20s. Now the most miserable was probably the first catering job I had. We had what seemed like a hurricane come through. I lost my pop up tent due to the amount of rain and wind that night. I finished the cook but boy was it rough.

I missed the most miserable part...without a doubt, several times between 2005 and 2008 at 29 Palms Marine base, on asphalt and I know it was 114° the one time.  We serve 6 tons, yes that is right 12,000lbs of various meat one year.  23,000 plates of food at the one event!

Today may be the coldest day in my short cooking history, I'm not certain.  The forecast is for about 12°F.

 I would say yes it counts..Been there, done that. As it isn't exactly present day pit cooking with the comforts of home near by, it could be counted as a primitive style cook thus a "cook".
