DIY Pellet Grill - Thermal Expansion

Another grill design question.  The internal walls on an insulated pellet grill can have more than a 500 deg F temperature swing if cooking at high temperature like close to 600 deg F.  For mild steel, my guess is that the expansion for 500 deg F could be over 1/8".  What do other insulated grill manufactures do for expansion?  I read some grills use high temperature RTV.  Could this be for expansion gaps?  What are you guys that own insualted grills seeing on your grills?

 If you consider double walled insulated, the walls are riveted in my Pro. The only thing I have noticed relative to expansion is one pop during warm-up. Only happens once and not when cooling down. One of the panels(inner front)has a slight bow to it.It is by design..Bowing may be a good way to deal w/ expansion.
