Pit Boss series 5 vertical pellet smoker
« on: June 01, 2020, 06:09:25 PM »

Do you know if this unit comes with a PID control board? I just got this unit and have a problem with it. I did the burn in. I used it yesterday for the first time. For about three first 5 hours it worked great. Then it started to get the erh code. I watched it and it filled with smoke and then it started to roar and the flames were coming or if the heat shield. I had the water pan in it and filled with water and the top was open all the way. The heat shield was in the correct direction. Anybody know what went wine and how to fix it?

No they are not PID controller. Mine just has temps all over the place at times then other times it runs great with no issues. I am in the process of gathering things to swap a Pellet Pro controller in to it. I have had the er code once or twice on start up, I turn it off and back on it it would run fine.
