Saladmaster Manual Food Processor
« on: May 13, 2018, 11:33:57 AM »

I was cooking a huge batch of Mexican food with a friend at her house and she gave me a 51-year-old Saladmaster food processor to shred the cheese.  It worked perfectly and safely.
  • It cleans up much easier than my electric food processor or blender
  • It has five cutting cylinders for various slicing needs
  • It's non-slip on the counter top
  • I used a wooden "pusher" to press the cheese down to the cutters so there's no chance of slicing off a finger tip as I've done on a mandolin
  • She thinks it has a lifetime guarantee (her Saladmaster pots and pans do)
It was such a pleasure to use that I smiled the entire time.

(Neither she nor I are associated with Saladmaster.)

I had to go watch the videos on this and wow that looks impressive. Nice tool.

It was such a pleasure to use that I smiled the entire time.

Maybe you had that smile because you still had your fingers...I would use the stick pusher also

Pretty sure mom had one with a few different heads and I am wondering if she got it from her mother!

I wish things today were made with the same quality and not plastic.  I know it's not cost effective for the manufacturer, but I hate throwing things away when they break and buying a new one.

Mom had something similar when I was growing up. I may see if she still has it and give it a try.
For the life of me I can’t figure out why their marketing people thought “saladmaster fry pan” sounded good. They look like quality pans that will last a long time but I keep thinking, hmmm, fried salad.  :puke:

Cheese graters have not been kind to my hands over the years. I should look into one of these.

Thanks for pointing this out.  Watched some videos and I understand why you are smiling.  On my b'day wish list now.
