My suggestion if you did that would be to freeze them for some time before baking so they have a chance of not completely melting to nothing.

That may be a future test.  I did think about peanut butter for a layer, but Reese's cups would work.  I am going more the turtle candy type of route -- walnuts and caramel.

If you were going to use Reese's would you replace both layers with them or have one layer of Reese's and one layer of....?

I am not going to actually use turtle candy, just the concept -- chocolate, walnuts, caramel.  Maybe put a little kosher salt on the top of the caramel layer.  Always needs to practice because it could be a disaster or could be over the top sweet.  But the family gets to be my victims this weekend. :pig:
