In Italy right now and I don't do well on the phone trying to use it as a computer so we'll be happy to try and answer your question by the weekend

Will use the tests we did on the 2 Camp Chef models.  Stuff that is fairly objective and technical in nature, heat, set temperature control, grill space etc... Then some more subjective tests, smoke out put, how much smoke flavor is imparted.

Then I would like to solicit the Members to submit things they would like to see tested or reviewed!

I texted Keith (ITC1) from Weber yesterday afternoon.  He said they would try and get the unit out start of next week, so it is giddy-up time!

I look forward to this.  My 10 year old GMG just died.  After a couple times of taking it apart and trying to get everything well lubed, I have come to the conclusion that sooner or later fans and auger motors just wear out.  I will follow this performance test, maybe a Weber is in my future if it goes well!
Not in line with the upcoming Weber test.  Could't notice fans & motors wear out... I have written about the following in the past. These motors almost always have no lube

applied to the armature/bearing areas resulting in no starts to slow starts that are more pronounced in cold temperatures. It is rellativy easy to lubricate these points using

a needle oiler or a toothpick so as to the small amount of oil to these areas. A synthetic engine oil such as 5w/30 works very well & lasts for years. Conventional oil will

work & won't last as long.  No need to buy oil. There is always @ least several drops of oil left in "emptied"oil bottles found @ auto parts stores, Auto repair shops etc .

Keith says he thinks unit was ready to ship Friday, so am hoping it goes out Monday or Tuesday and we can get cracking on it by the weekend!

There is another slight delay.  Keith was not able to get into HQ in Chicago this week.  I will update the site as soon as it ships!

Just received the shipping info.  Unit will be here on Wednesday.  Will probably rename this thread and use it for comments and questions and start a new locked thread for the Performance Test!
