Tri Tip cheaper than Chuck
« on: March 03, 2020, 05:28:55 PM »

Fred Meyer (Kroger) last weekend.  $3.99 a lb.  And chuck was $6.99 a lb.  Wife wanted pulled beef with onions and peppers (pepper stout beef without the stout).

I purchased the three decent Tri Tips, might regret not buying the 4th.   To follow is a 3 lb pulled Tri Tip.   I prefer mine medium rare sliced, but this came out great.

Looks great.  I just bought 25+# of chuck roast last week for $3.59/#.  Its vac sealed in the fridge for some cooks this Spring/Summer/Fall.  Or I may use some for hamburger or to try making snack sticks.

Pulled tri-tip, I can never get myself to do anything but grilled.  I cant even imagine what the texture would be like.

"IF" I can find Tri-Tip it's 8.99 a lb here or more..     Most so called butchers here don't even know what it is, they try to sell the cap not the tri tip
