Summer Trifle, American Style
« on: June 08, 2021, 03:50:13 PM »

It has been a while since I made a trifle and so my proportions are off, but it should settle a bit overnight as the juices from the berries seep in.  My version of a Summer Trifle -- a layer of pound cake, then strawberries and raspberry mixture along with blueberries and blackberries, then my own recipe for cream layer (cream cheese, powdered sugar and sour cream which was then folded into whipped cream).  Repeat and decorate a bit.  The mint was from the garden.

I feel the same way.  If it was solely strawberries I might eat the whole dish.

I like them all.  Have blueberries every morning on my cereal (well, at least the morning I have cereal).

I did get to have some of the left over berries and the sauce and they were very good, as ripe and flavorful berries as I have had in quite some time.  The sauce was the perfect accompaniment for sweetness too!

I like cereal, but as a diabetic rarely get to eat it. Plus my every day breakfast is essentially decided for me since we have ducks that lay eggs and basically I constantly have to eat eggs to try to keep up with the supply.
