Sonoran Rippers...
« on: March 11, 2022, 01:34:27 PM »

A Nod to The Rutt's Hut Ripper and a Sonoran Dog!  Was pretty good.  I would use a smaller dog next time so you can get condiments on the bun!  It may look burnt, but it was not! 3 minutes in 350° oil!

I don't recall ever having a deep fried hot dog other than a corn dog.  What hot dog did you use?

those look pretty tasty. We used to slit the dog and put some thread of string cheese in them before the fry or the smoker.

I remember helping cook for a birthday party I was doing wings in the turkey fryer, someone else was doing burgers and some hot dogs on a grill, they needed more hot dogs so I tossed them in the fryer, people thought I was crazy until they started eating them.

I used the All Beef Millers I got in Fresno.  They are to big to do the job right!

Probably be good with Brats too.
They are large as well, but I'd suffer through with fewer toppings.  :lick:
