Underdog Hot Dogs with Bentley and Kristin
« on: September 30, 2022, 08:06:51 PM »

Met up with Bentley and Kristin on their way to CT to see Fresno St tomorrow.  We went to Underdog in Pottstown.  Here is a picture of the New York and Philly dogs.

Are those Freetos on the hotdog? Do they have an option for chili cheese Freetos?

UConn is definitely the underdog in this battle of pooches. Fresno State has been training in 110 degree temperatures. Go Bulldogs !!!!!!

Here is the menu with the description of each dog/sausage.

It hit me after we said our goodbyes that we did not get a picture of the three of us together.

Reminds me of: Heid's of Liverpool (Syracuse, NY). It's renown.

I saw this place on a BeardMeatsFood youtube video.  I had no idea it was a hole in the wall.  No bathroom for patrons, literally 2 small tables.  About the only signature dog that moved me to order it was the Chi Dog, good, but Chicago has nothing to worry about!  Also just had a Sausage w/Onion & Relish.  Both the All Beef Dog and the sausage had good taste, the guys fixing them put just the right amount of condiments on them...but the bun really detracted from make them great dogs!  They were fresh and good bread, but just pulled out of a roll bag.  no steam, not even a quick shot in the micro to soften.  If they had done that, they would have been great Dogs.

Fresno State stunk up the place today!

The lower hotdog with pickle relish, pepperoncini's and tomatoes is my way. It looks like a nice fat dog as well.

Hats off to the Huskies. It was a big win for them.

We had a hot dog place in the last town I lived in and they had some really fun topping options and all, but when we got the dogs I ended up being disappointed and it was right along the lines Bentley mentioned. When I am paying $4-5 for a hot dog it better not be on a bun that you can buy an bag of for less then a dollar, it should be on a fresh, good quality bun. The buns were so dilapidated they just kind of fell apart under all the toppings.

Well, like I told you at the hot dog shop, I have come to realize that life is to short to pass up opportunities to meet with friends.  I have no qualms about driving an hour to meet Bentley and Kristin.  I would drive that much or more to see you  again if my job permitted me to be able to do so.  Very happy to spend any time with both of you.  And, i actually enjoyed both of my hot dogs.

Sad to hear your team did not come away this weekend with a W.

I hope we can find a time when we can spend more time together.

And, I am hopeful that during my trip to Detroit that I can meet a few more people on this board!
