Weber Searwood 600 (reconfigured SmokeFire)
« on: July 17, 2024, 01:18:04 PM »

After some research I just got a Searwood 600. Apparently Weber went back to the drawing board and have fixed the issues that were present in their first pellet try with the SmokeFire.

Research seems to show this to be the latest and greatest in their price range. Have done three cooks on it (have had it for 4 days)
1. Flat Iron steak, Honey Cinnamon buttered yams and bananas. Everything came out great, steak was perfect.
2. Instead of the biscuit test I did the jerky test. Covered that grill front-to-back and side-to-side with some thin beef. Cooked at 200. When it was done every piece was really good. Did not find any hot spots to speak of.
3. Just some good ol hamburgers. Again no issues and good outcome.

The app works very well. Interesting temp graph that show how many degrees you lost for opening the lid, any changes in temp during the cook. Start up and temp changes amazingly fast. Temp range is 200 to 600 with different setting for under 200 with additional smoke during long cooks.

Easy to clean.

So far the Supreme Commander says IT'S A KEEPER!
Good thing, I already sold the GMG.

When I  did the 2.5lb flat iron, large pan of yams (love those leftovers) and a couple of banana had plenty of room.sa

I picked up a Searwood 600 a few weeks ago. So far have cooked ribs (twice) burgers, steak and ABT's 4 times.
I'm enjoying the grill so far.
