Have to Love His Holiday Spirit....
« on: November 24, 2017, 04:21:08 PM »

So, I was putting up a few outdoor Christmas lights today and asked Bentley for help.  I don't do anything extensive.  I have lights to cover the bushes around the front door area (only 7 strings), garland for around the front door, and lighted garland for the two front columns.   I needed him to get up on a small ladder (only about 3 ft off the ground) and help wrap the garland around the columns.

From getting the lights from the garage until everything was strung and in place was less than an hour.  When we finish he says:  "Well, thank goodness that is done.  Maybe I will be dead by this time next year and not have to go through this again."

Ah yes, Mr. Holly-in-His-Heart, the most wonderful time of the year has arrived!!! :pig:

What a grump he is, my wife is the same way....... I screamed and hollered and she finally climbed the ladder and is now on the roof. I can't wait till nightfall so I can see what I didn't do.

I purchased one of those gadgets that shine multicolor lights all over the front of the house. Stick it in the ground, plug it in, DONE.

I have wondered about those.  They look good on TV, but I was curious if they worked that well in "real life".  I assume you are happy with it?

I got 2 of those plug in lights. Simple and it works  Running the extension cord is the most time consuming part, 5 minutes...

My wife broke one of those lights trying to get the stake into the ground when it had already frozen.

My neighbor has two of them shining on their house.  The way the one close to me is aimed it shines colored light into our upstairs bedroom window.  I wake up in the middle of the night thinking that the police are outside.

I'm going to buy them a timer.

A guy I work with has them and he said they work great, I just tend to shy away from that stuff ? Without offending anyone, do the look "cheesy" for lack of better terms?

Me too, except 3 of them. It's tough work running those extension cords and bending over to stick them in the ground! 5 minutes tops with the help of the grandkids!

Reading about others' efforts for Christmas decorations just confirms how much of a Scrooge I've become. I treat wrapping one front column half-way up like a death march.

I looked at the ladder that goes into the attic where the lights are stored.  Does that count?

Too many good football game on TV today for such nonsense.

One family room wall.

     Left.

     Center.

     Right.

Marcia loves to decorate for Christmas.  I want to sell all of those Santas and buy another pit.

She did a great job and nothing but the best to you should you venture on the Santa-pit swap.
It looks beautiful and it doesn't smell like smoke.
