5” here in South Louisiana.  The last snow we received was in 2008, about 3” back then.

Maybe it is just a personal body thing.  It is snowing and 31° now, and it feels warmer then when it was 38° an no snow yesterday!

Humidity most definitely affects how you feel temperature wise.
The higher the humidity the warmer or hotter you feel.
Think Midwest region, middle of summer, hot and humid. Your body can't dissipate your sweat because the air is saturated. Makes the summer picnic long.
Think Arizona, "Dry heat", if the humidity rises (monsoonal season) folks think the world is coming to an end. Even though the temperature is basically the same sweltering heat it was before the monsoon. Lacking humidity the vast majority can easily deal with the temps when it is hot.
The primary reason for humidification in the cold months is for comfort, that is one of the reasons mechanical contractors always offer them, or should.
Less itchy skin, less dry noses, preservation of good wood etc. are added benefits.

Yep!  In Vegas in the summer a bud and I walked golf when it was 105+.  Drank lots of water, didn't feel too bad, didn't really sweat at all.  When we got back to the clubhouse I brushed salt off the side of my face, it was full salt crystals.  Living in Vegas for 24 years 105f 10% humidity is okay but 110+ gets stoopid.  When the monsoon season hits, humidity gets into the 50's we die.  When I went back to PA last summer, it was 89/90f for a few days 80-90% humidity.  I had to wear a bandana I was sweating so bad it just dripped off my face. It was terrible. So 90f to 105f makes a huge diff with humidity.

Ohh and Denver in the Winter...  I used to teach electronics to kids in Denver for 9 years, went through hundreds and hundreds of students.  In the winter they used to get nosebleeds all the time being cold AND dry.  Baby oil and a q-tip wipe in the nose helped them a lot.  The Midwest is a lot more humid in the winter they said.

And ... Almost 80 days in Vegas with no measurable rain so far.  Not one drop.

Lived off an on in Vegas for 3 years.  I will take 100° and 11% RH there over 85° and 80% RH here in Mayberry any day!

Boy howdy would y'all hate it here!  Triple digits in the summer with 70 to 80% humidity.  I couldn't live where it's cold year around.  Going to be in the upper 30s tonight and we'll all be freezing.  I don't mind sweating.

That is hilarious, GREG-B! How true is that! We see that a lot when it snows around here.

@Greg-B ,    .

That’s so perfect for western Wa. It snows every year and it seems there’s a mad dash to the ditch. I used to work with a guy that swore the problem with driving in the snow was the people who slowed down and wouldn’t drive the speed limit. He claimed the speed limit was calculated for safe driving in bad weather.

We had to help pull him Out of the ditch every year.

Bar-B-Lew, that is an impressive line-up! Seeing a pic of it makes a bigger impact than just reading the names off a page. How do you like the cold smoke box on your MAK (current situation not withstanding)?

Having lived here all of my 60+ years, I can relate. I'd bet that most folks in the region weren't born here or even lived here for 15-20 years.
For some obscure reason; everyone seems to think that AWD or (even worse, 4WD) gives them a pass to drive like an idiot.

I'm not an idiot by any means, but even I got stuck up in the hills one winter. I took my son up a logging road one winter to play in the snow. My 1995 Chevy 3/4 ton 4WD was worthless. We had got far enough up the road when I decided to turn around and go back to a prior area we had passed. Stop, reverse, back up, and about half way lost all traction. So now we're stuck sideways on the road and going nowhere fast.

God was good that day as a group of Cub Scouts comes hiking 'down' the road. "Need some help the Scoutmaster asked"? Red faced me says yeah. So about 3 kids push on the right front fender as I put the truck in gear. They pushed us around with little to no effort, and we were going down hill again. I thanked them and asked if they wanted a ride back. Nope! They be HIKING!.

I've too many stories I could share, but the bottom line is... DON'T drive anywhere around Puget Sound if it's snowing or icy. 95% of the folks here are clueless. But... I got AWD! I got 4WD! I got studs in my tires! I got testosterone!

I just stay home anymore. I'm too old for that nonsense.
