No for me.  I am new to BBQ, and would love to learn more and compete.  My schedule at work and the amount of time I spend away from home, does not lend to any type of competition.  Although somewhere down the line, when time permits, I would love to come join a team to take in the whole competition experience.

Come hang out with us at the Royal next year.  Pull up a chair (tho you’d have to bring your own).
Watch the Competition Section for dates.

The best way to learn!  I would certainly shadow somebody a few times before I jumped into it.

That is a fairly humble way of saying I was on the team and my potato entry finished 42 with a score or 170.26 and along with GrillinGlen's 24th and 173 in beans and Kristin's 11th and 174 in Vegetable the 3 of us finished 6th overall in Sides with a 517.64.  The highest sides finish Pelletheads.com had in its 6 years at the American Royal.

I hung out with the Pelletheads at the 2015 Royal.

LOL.  That darn potato ended up creating a monster and costing me a bunch of money the last two years!  I sure hope you guys make it out there.  I shot an email to the BBQ Director for the Royal.  Of course, she is out of the office until Jan 2nd.

I compete with the Smokin' Yankee's. Our last contest was at the 2016 Royal. No comps in 2017. Hopefully 2018 we'll be back at it again.
