Seems the only way to get a meaty beef Back is to by a bone on Rib Roast and bone it yourself.

I wondered about that. It would be nice, though, if someone else's roast sustained the loss of good meat and not mine . . .   :pig:

Mike if you figure this out please let me know.  I think we're both up here in SW Washington.  I've yet to source consistent meaty beef ribs.
DK

Yes, I'll let you know. I looked at all the local groceries. About the only place I haven't checked is Cash & Carry. triplebq's pics are like something from a beef glamor shot, they look so good!

Cash & Carry has them in Eugene. They are not in the walk in meat section. They are in the prepackaged food cooler section. I did not buy any because it look like they hardly had any meat on them.

Michael,

How close to Seattle are you? The shoreline Costco routinely has the right kind of beef ribs for smoking. Bobs quality meats in Columbia city also has them.

Just like what Bentley said, otherwise they are meatless.
Used to be able to find them, hit and miss but not anymore.
It's a shame too because they are the best ribs out there if you want my opinion.

These are the ones I got for $5 for the whole rack.  What type beef ribs are they?

ArborAgent, I live in SW Washington in Battle Ground. The Costcos here don't carry them, at least not when I'm in the store. Even though they're not back ribs, your ribs still look very delicious!

Cash & Carry has them in Eugene. They are not in the walk in meat section. They are in the prepackaged food cooler section. I did not buy any because it look like they hardly had any meat on them.

I guess it doesn't hurt to check here in Vancouver.

BBL, those look like back ribs to me; they look nice and long.

Those look like the ones I have found at Wal Mart.

Taste good but not much meat.

Those are what I call Beef Back Ribs, whether that is correct nomenclature or not?

You want the plate ribs...back ribs have almost zero meat on them. The plate ribs are the Fred flinstone looking dinosaur bone...brisket on a stick right there!

Oh yea brisket on a stick  :lick:
