Best ribs ever already cooked at Costco
« on: May 21, 2018, 04:41:43 PM »

I bought "Big Shoulders Smokehouse"  Boneless Pork Ribs in original BBQ Sauce at Costco

They were maybe best ribs I ever had.

Heat and serve...$8.00 for a 2 lb. package.

I'd be interested to know how much sauce is on them.

All
Not joking here. They were better than ribs I've done on the GMG.
The meat was thicker than what I get on Baby Back ribs.
Just the right amount of hickory smoke...My pellets are only 30 percent hickory.
Juicy...Maybe I need to wrap earlier?
I'm just letting the facts lead where they lead.
IMHO, these are awesome and cheap! Boneless ribs with moderate sauce amounts..Not buried in sauce, but more than a brush on amount.

>They were maybe best ribs I ever had.

These most likely are not ribs at all but rather country style 'ribs', which are actually cut from the shoulder or loin. I've not had these but I've had other Big Shoulder ribs and they're OK, but you can do much better yourself.

Great find. I will give them a try the next time I'm in Costco.

Looking at the picture on the package I can assure you they are!  But who cares, you like them a lot.  That is the Ticket!

From the picture on the package, they look like a Country Rib which is cut from the Hog shoulder.  I had them many times growing up and they are just good food.  But I guess they could be a spare rib that has had the bone taken out, but I would think that would cost a lot more then $4/lb.

Country Ribs can come from the loin, but now mostly come from the shoulder. They are not ribs, but the meat is similar in flavor and texture. They're good eating.

Perhaps it's the cut more then the cooking that I was so impressed with.
It's just the wifey and me for supper and we're always looking for dinner packages that have the right amount of food. This is perfect for us.
