Upper Limit - Redii-Check Remote Smoker Thermometer
« on: August 25, 2018, 01:25:54 PM »

Does anyone know the upper temperature limit on the above?  I can't find a model number, maybe it's ET-73.  The box says "Maverick" on the front lower right-hand corner.  I've used it at smoking temperatures but I wonder if 500°F is too high.

The 732 and 733 go to 572, not sure about the 73.

From their web site.
In BBQ mode you can set the high alert range from 140°F to 572°F and 32°F to 554°F in the low alert range

I think my old ET-73's were appx 410°.  These are the ones you have to turn on with a little black switch after taking off the back?

Thanks.

When it's 100° outside I don't want to use there kitchen range.  I was going to try to use my gas grill top rack as a 450° oven and figured that it would, maybe, hit 500° until I got it dialed in.  I switched to the pellet pit.

I wonder if there's a propane grill that has temperature control like a kitchen range oven.
